Hello Urban Blossom Designer!

I'm so glad you are here and I've been so impressed with you! I love your designs and your shop AND your events are fantastic!!! Here is my question. What is a good plant to put on my balcony that faces the sun for the summer? I've tried everything and it's just to hot in Dallas! Everything burns or dries up way too fast. I'm not very good with plants and I don't know a lot about flowers. I've tried annuals and they were dead in two days! Help! I miss having plants out on my balcony.

Thanks so much! - Julie K., Addison

Thank you for all the accolades Julie! We are glad that you have been so pleased with our business and designs. We're here for you! A plant that has proven most successful in urban settings with high heat are succulents. One type inparticular is Echevaria. The genus Echeveria is named after the 18th century Spanish botanist Atanasio Echeverria Codoy. They can take full sun and have a frost tolerance of 25 degrees Farenheit, so they'll survive our winters, too (though all plants need protection in hard freezes)!
